finally, i’ve gone on my long awaited trip to kl.

well, not exactly kl. we were in petaling jaya, damansara, which is a 45mins taxi ride from kl international airport. (costs about 80rm if you go by meter)

we decided to go there for a short trip cos brian won something again. this time, free jetstar asia air tickets to kl. =) and how did he win it? by dining at the kopitiam food court.

so lucky… how come i never win anything…

we decided on petaling jaya cos my boss recommended that we stay in the hotel there “royale bintang damansara”, which is surrounded by shopping malls, good food, and cinemas =) we also decided that this trip should be a relaxed one; we’ll do nothing but eat, shop, watch a movie, and rest in the hotel room….

in a train that brings us from kl international airport to the arrival hall.

1st stop, check-in to hotel room =)

check out the posh royale bintang damansara lobby.

our comfortable hotel room.

after checking in, we went for a cheap cheap movie at damansara cineleisure =) movies there costs 10rm each, and that means about s$4.30. so cheap leh. we watched 2 movies while we were there: street fighter – the legend of chun li, and marley and me.

1st movie – so so
2nd movie – good=)

our 1st meal for the day at vivo. the food there’s great =) i’ve been yearning for linguine with cream sauce for the longest time and finally found it at vivo. carbonara linguini… i love. the only problem is, i wanted just mushrooms and ONLY mushrooms in my carbonara linguini, but they don’t have that in the menu; they’ve only got the one with chicken ham and mushroom. it tasted good anyways.

after dinner, we stopped by ikano power center (it’s a shopping mall, linked to ikea) for some shopping. there, we bought some sand art and cds. they’ve got a pet safari there too! i went in there to see the pups at around 10pm, only to realise that they’ve been taken off to bed, and we found ourselves in the exotic pets section instead=( eeeeewwwww…

there were snakes… tree snakes, pythons… small snakes, big snakes. bleach. there were also komodo dragons, bearded lizards, toads, squirrels and legless lizards for sale. it grossed me out so much that i had a nightmare about snakes that night. sick.

on the 2nd day, we had lunch at sakae sushi, went for a movie again and shopped at the curve shopping mall and the ‘pasar malams’ outside the hotel. the pasar malam’s known as ‘the street’. sad thing is, people there don’t give much discounts, probably cos they’re situated right outside a hotel.
street market, opens from 11am till around 10pm.

dinner at ‘little penang kafe’, a recommended cafe by my boss. we had char kway tiao and chendol. the chendol was as good as he described =) it’s a must try if you ever go there.

and at the end of the day, it’s lazing in the hotel, again. and there’s brian lazing on the couch and enjoying a movie on star movies – hitman.

we watched 3 movies in the hotel during the trip, hitman being one of the 3. hehe. yar i noe, we should be out there, exploring damansara instead of sitting around in the hotel room, but don’t forget, it’s supposed to be relaxing, so we’re relaxing, hehe.

on the last day of our trip, we shopped around a little more, and had lunch at waroeng penyet. apparently, it’s famous for its ayam penyet (flattened chicken). and it’s really very good! better than any others i’ve tried in singapore (i haven’t tried the one in lucky plaza yet though, was told it’s famous too). on the extreme right, is our chendol drink with grass jelly.

end of day 3 =( all packed up and ready to leave the hotel.

enjoying 2 complimentary drinks from the hotel before hopping on a taxi back to the airport. passion fruit =)
and the damage from the 3 day stay?

pendants for myself, gucci keychain for brian, burberry handphone accessory for his sister, sand art for my sis n myself.

my fav buy? the pendants =) they’re beautiful… a sweet lady named florence hand-made them with swarovski crystals and materials inported from usa. her store’s right outside the damansara cineleisure and all her items are lovely. her designs are mainly victorian and she only makes one for each design. check out her website =) most of her hand-made jewellery are posted in there – http://www.elodiaz.com/

i’ll be sure to visit her again if i ever go there, to check out her latest updates cos i lurve victorian stuff!

sigh… i miss kl-petaling jaya-damansara already…
